The Israeli Police and the prosecutor's office responded on Monday evening to reports that investigators recorded a conversation between former head of the Israel Bar Association Attorney Effi Naveh and his lawyer.
"This is an incorrect publication, the entire purpose of which is to besmirch the investigation and the legal process that is underway. It should be emphasized that at no point was the suspect recorded while talking to his lawyer, a fact that was well known to all concerned, even before the misreporting. We regret the fact that some choose to ignore the facts and mislead the public," they said.
