Irish low-cost airline Ryanair is considering opening a route from Ramon Airport to Barcelona and Madrid this summer, according to Channel 12 News.

Last week, the company applied to the airport authorities to check the possibility. Ryanair will not receive the grant given per passenger on winter-season flights, but is probably counting on residents of the south and even residents of the center filling the planes during the summer season. Ryanair said it does not currently plan to expand at Ramon Airport but is "constantly exploring new business options."
