Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan and Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein are not expected to express support for either Gid'on Saar or Binyamin Netanyahu as chairman of the Likud Party, according to Channel 12 News.
If they support Saar and he wins, they could lose their turn for a few years and not be able to take on the role in the near future. If Saar loses, they may "get hit" by the winning camp if there is another race. In addition standing up to the prime minister is something to think about: Erdan is primarily considering his public status and in Edelstein's case, every decision has a bearing on the large public of Likud members identified with him.
