In a post on Twitter, MK Itzik Shmuli (Labor) wrote about the death of elderly people due to lack of heating in their homes, writing:
"Another elderly man died of hypothermia. Every year, thousands of houses become cold traps and some of the elderly simply freeze to death when there is no money to heat their homes. Just recently I demanded the Knesset put a stop to the electricity cuts and increase the heating grant as stipulated in the law I enacted, but the government does not care. I will require urgent convening of a committee."
