Chairwoman Tamar Zandberg of the Democratic Union Knesset faction has responded to the dissolution of the Knesset and scheduling of new elections by saying, "I am not ashamed and sad this morning. I am proud and optimistic."

Zandberg explained, "A huge public has not surrendered to, been confused by or reconciled to a prime minister accused of bribery. If what it takes to win is to do it a third time, then this is what we will do. It is a price to pay but is relatively small [compared] to the immunity-annexation option that awaits us as an alternative."
