The Regavim movment for preservation of state lands moved on Wednesday evening to prevent a rider to the bill that dissolved the Knesset that would have canceled the Kaminitz Law, which has cut illegal building starts in half.

Member of Knesset Ahmed Tibi (Joint LIst) tried to promote the cancellation in the bill to dissolve the Knesset after the Yisrael Beytenu Party introduced a rider that stipulated foreign workers would not receive a sabbatical day off on Election Day. He threatened more riders until it would be too late for the Election Day be changed from Purim. Regavim contacted the Zionist members of the committee, leading to agreed-upon wording that dissolved the hijacking attempt.
