The Jerusalem District Court has approved the plea bargain between the prosecution and defendants Meir Gamliel and Natanel Sandrusi in the hit-and-run death of 11-year-old Chaim Benjamin Biegeleisen in Jerusalem's Ramot neighborhood.
As part of the plea bargain, Gamaliel admitted that he was driving the vehicle, not Sandrusi, and was therefore convicted on the charge after abandonment after injury. The parties agreed to penalties of only 15 months imprisonment for Gamliel and seven months in prison for Sandrusi.
