Member of Knesset Gid'on Saar has thanked Likud Central Committee members who applauded him Sunday evening during his speech at the Tel Aviv Exhibition Gardens, despite those who booed him because of his running for the party leadership against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Saar said, "Thank you to the many members of the movement's center who supported me and my path tonight. The Likud movement has always been an active and vibrant democratic movement. It is my determination to run for leadership of the movement with the understanding that a change of leadership is needed to extricate the country from the ongoing political crisis, to establish a Likud-led government and to unite the people."
