Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit and State Prosecutor Shai Nitzan have ordered the commander of Israel Police's Lahav 433 national economic-crimes unit to conduct an inquest into the investigation of state's witness Nir Hafetz in the corruption cases against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, according to Haaretz.

During the interrogation, a female witness close to Hefetz was asked about their relationship, and the police even had them meet apparently at random. The commander was asked, among other things, to investigate why the Lahav unit did not report the move to the prosecution and ask for its approval.
