The US released Massoud Soleimani, an Iranian stem cell expert arrested last year in Chicago, in exchange for Chinese-American researcher Xiyue Wang, who has been held by Iran since 2016, BBC reported.
Soleimani was charged with violating trade sanctions by attempting to export biological material to Iran. Xiyue was accused of "collaborating with foreign governments." Both denied the charges.
