Blue and White leader Yair Lapid responded to the charges announced in the submarine affair (Case 3000) on Thursday, saying that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu cannot evade responsiblity for what happened.
"The submarine affair doesn't end with the indictments filed today - it is just beginning," Lapid said. "Netanyahu will still have to answer in court how the people closest to him received millions in the submarine deal. Is it possible that David Shimron [Netanyahu's former personal lawyer and cousin] hid his involvement in the affair? Why did he approve the sale of submarines to Egypt behind the back of the defense establishment?"
"If Netanyahu knew what was going on, the investigations will affect him also. If all this happened behind his back, that's another reason he can not continue to serve as prime minister for even one more day."
