Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney has told the Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation he believes there are principles about resolving the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Authority that may have been relevant 20 years ago but are irrelevant today and therefore new thinking should be encouraged.
Given the possibility of Israel annexing the Jordan Valley, he stressed that any solution must be by agreement and not imposed on the PA, and based on the two-state idea. Regarding the plan of the United States, which has only presented the economic portion, he said that economic investment alone will not resolve the conflict.
