Chairman Ayman Odeh of the Joint List of predominantly Arab parties has asked Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit to examine whether the government's decision to transfer 40 million shekels to local authorities in Judea and Samaria is a favor in exchange for political support.
Odeh said that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu "did his two favorite things at the same time today - misappropriated public money for his personal benefit and expanded the settlement enterprise to deepen the occupation." He added, "It is inconceivable that the prime minister will use money of all of us to buy the support of Yesha Council leaders in his public fight against the judiciary." He concluded, "I am demanding to cancel the transfer of funds and direct it to a domestic violence-fighting program that has been waiting for a budget since it was approved in 2017."
