Security forces have announced the arrest of two residents of the Bedouin community, aged 24 and 37, on suspicion of smuggling cannabis from Egypt.
Undercover Border Guards, police and soldiers saw suspicious activity Saturday night in the Mount Harif area, about halfway along the Egyptian border between Eilat and Gaza. Drivers of a suspicious vehicle did not heed calls to stop for an inspection and the suspects were arrested after a vehicle and foot chase. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 37 packages of the drug, weighing approximately 37 kilograms.
