Retired Supreme Court Deputy Chief Justice and Israeli Congress Consultative Forum Chairman Prof. Elyakim Rubinstein this morning addressed attacks on the Israeli judicial system at an event of the Israeli Congress at the Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem.
"For me, as an Israeli and an Israeli public servant for fifty years, these are insane times. The fact that we're being led to a third election is incomprehensible to me.
"This is also in connection with lies told about the legal establishment with the Attorney General and prosecutor. They are imperfect and can be criticized, but what's happening now is that it's provoking the public. It is a very difficult test but the State of Israel will face it because our DNA is strong, but these things are wrong and there's a difference between criticism and what we're seeing now."
