During an arrangement of Prime Minister Menachem Begin's library at the Begin Center, a surprising note was discovered inside David Fogel's book "Marriage Life" - a check from the Steimatsky Company for a total of NIS 102,705, from 1983.
Newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported the check found at the Begin Center revealed that it was a check he received as a royalty from the Steimatsky book chain for the book On White Nights written by Begin and translated into English by Steimatsky, but Begin never redeemed the check but used it as a bookmark in one of the books he was reading.
