Jordanian officials told Channel 13 News on Sunday that the tension between Israel and Amman was mainly due to complete distrust between King Abdullah II and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. According to the sources, the Jordanian king does not believe one word the Prime Minister says.

The report further said during the Netanyahu period, the relationship between the countries has deteriorated towards a crisis. According to the officials in the Hashemite kingdom, it is not certain that as long as Netanyahu is Prime Minister - the conflict can be resolved. This is because the Jordanians believe that Netanyahu sees the relationship between the countries as a given, and believes that the Jordanians need Israel, and Jordan will remain by Israel’s side no matter what it does.
