Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev (Likud) responded to the indictment filed against Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu.

"This is a sad day for the State of Israel, as I have always said, everyone is entitled to innocence until the court decides otherwise, so it is with Prime Minister Netanyahu." Regev added: "Public confidence in the State Prosecutor's Office and the police is at the heart of the public storm. The government is carrying out a coup, and they must stop, to avoid a situation where the prosecutor's office and police investigators are immune from criticism and are above the law.

"I want to strengthen the Prime Minister and his family at this difficult time. His speech was touching. The Prime Minister has rightly made a decision to continue his role as the law allows him, to fight for his justice and democratic rule in the State of Israel. I'm sure of the prime minister's innocence, " said Regev.
