The Yesh Atid faction within the Blue and White Party rushed, Thursday morning, to update the party's constitution, making it clear that founder Yair Lapid will continue to serve as chairman even during the upcoming Knessets.
The move was made following a report by Channel 12 News, noting that the party's constitution states that Member of Knesset Lapid must hold internal elections for the position when the 22nd Knesset has expired, until he announces his resignation or until he is appointed to chair the party, whichever comes first. The party was quick to announce that following the early dispersal of the two revenues, the 21st and probably the 22nd, Lapid's tenure without primaries was extended until the end of the 25th Knesset, "together with the establishment of the Blue and White Party," calling it "a technical process in light of the special circumstances".
