The Samaria Military Court sentenced Abdullah Fawad Mustafa Mahmoud to 20 months in prison, payment of NIS 3,000, and 18 months probation for assisting the Barkan murderer flee security forces, aid that included sheltering the murderer and disrupting court proceedings.

The verdict reads that Mahmoud assisted Ashraf Naalwa, the killer of Kim Levengrond and Yehezkel Hajbi, by meeting him at a Shechem mosque and offering him a lodging at the mosque when he did not yet know he was the Barkan killer. Mahmoud then discovered the identity of the guest, but nevertheless did not stop aiding him. Mahmoud allowed the murderer to use his phone with Internet access and even brought a book to the murderer's sister who lives in Shechem.
