Chairman Avigdor Liberman of the Yisrael Beytenu Party attacked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Thursday morning, telling Galei Tzahal that Netanyahu pledged to eradicate Hamas rule in 2009 but "What we really saw was his close cooperation with Hamas," adding: "Netanyahu is sacrificing strategic interests on the altar of short-term achievement." Noting "We have again seen a junior organization putting a third of the country on strike," he warned, "It is clear to everyone - the next round is only a matter of time, if the situation continues as it is - within three years Hamas is becoming Hezbollah"

Liberman accused Netanyahu of working for elections and against a unity government, saying Netanyahu spoke against it during the elections and "Today he understands that it is difficult to speak against a unity government so he speaks in favor - and in fact does everything possible to torpedo it."
