Director Nadav Argaman of the Shabak Israel Security Agency has described the elimination of a senior Islamic Jihad terrorist in Gaza as counterterrorism "made possible by very strenuous intelligence work. Precisely very high with the aim of only harming him, with minimum harm to innocent civilians."

Argaman said that Baha Abu al-Ata behaved like a wanted man from the time of a recent rash of Gaza rocket launchings until his death in the predawn hours of Tuesday.
