President Reuven Rivlin has called, at the state memorial observance for assassinated prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, for "separating the murder from our political beliefs. The fear of another political murder does not belong to one or the other political camp."

Following the recent public debate over conspiracy theories, Rivlin said, "Don't believe those who talk about post truth and alternative facts. Post truth is false and alternative facts are fraud," but stressed that they too do not represent one camp or another. He also said, "Murder must not be used to gain points in the political debate."
