The U.S. State Department is offering a $25 million reward for anyone able to provide information to locate and return Agent Robert Levinson.
Levinson is a former FBI agent who came to visit Kish Island in Iran in 2007 and has since disappeared. The U.S. estimates that Levinson was kidnapped and arrested by the Iranian government.
The Trump administration quintupled to $25 million rewards for information leading to Levinson's return.
The $20 million allocation from the State Department Rewards for Justice announced Monday is in addition to the $5 million the FBI has for years offered for information leading to the rescue of its former agent.
