Chairman Amir Peretz of the Labor-Gesher Party has expressed support for the initiative of Interior Minister Aryeh Deri to promote a law to conduct a snap election for prime minister between incumbent Binyamin Netanyahu and Blue and White Party Chairman Benny Gantz.
Interviewed by 90 FM radio, Peretz said, "A direct election for prime minister is a positive idea and I support it. I will raise it for discussion in my faction."
