Chairman Arnon Bar-David of the Histadrut Labor Federation sent a sharp letter on Monday to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon and Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, calling on them to intervene and prevent a severe crisis in the local authorities.

Responding to the announcement by the Federation of Local Authorities of its intention to strike all local authorities this Thursday, Bar-David wrote, "We have reached the red line. The time has come to roll up sleeves and prevent the collapse of the local authorities." Referring to the impasse in the formation of a national government, he continued, "It is inconceivable that the decision-makers will continue to wait for those who blink first, betting on the strength of the social fabric in the State of Israel."
