Hamas has has informed the Palestinian Authority that it is prepared for its demand to hold parliamentary elections first and only after that elections for the PA presidency, according to the Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation.

In a letter sent by Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, he said that Hamas is conditioning its agreement on the presidential elections being held three months after the elections to the Palestinian parliament - to which representatives from the PA and Gaza are elected. Until now, Hamas has insisted that the elections for the parliament and the presidency, as well as for the Palestine Liberation Organization institutions, be held simultaneously.
