The Attorney General and the State Attorney issued a joint statement on Tuesday following the Justice Minister's press conference, stating that they are " very sorry to hear the Justice Minister's comments."

"We reject the attempt to attack the work of some of the police and prosecutors without any factual basis," the two said.

"The law enforcement system is a fundamental part of a proper democratic regime. The law enforcement system has acted, and will continue to act fearlessly, professionally and solely for the rule of law and the public interest."

"Nobody will deter us from doing our job faithfully. Nobody will distract us ," the statement said.
