The Dan bus company will pay NIS 115,500 in compensation to seven Ethiopian boys, and will apologize to them after a driver refused to let them board a bus only because of their origin in January 2018. A ruling to that effect by the Tel Aviv Magistrates Court enforces a recently-signed mediation agreement between the parties.

The driver said that a few days earlier, Ethiopian boys had boarded and behaved improperly but she could not identify them among the plaintiffs, each of whom will receive 16,500 shekels as well as legal fees. Dan also pledged to send an apology letter to the youths which includes a declaration of "zero tolerance for any revelation of discrimination by its employees, whatever the background."
