The Ministry of Justice and the Police referred to the confiscation of the cellphones of Netanyahu's advisers.
"Law enforcement agencies view seriously any attempt to intimidate witnesses, try to get them to change their testimony or harass them in any way. The severity should naturally be seen when this is done to state witnesses in order to influence their testimony," the statement said.
"Regarding the issue of phone seizure of the suspects, this is required for obvious interrogation purposes. Due to the inherent special sensitivity, it was decided from the first stage that a court order would be requested to allow only a limited search, to locate information related to the topic of investigation only, and because of the sensitivity in this case, the search will be conducted under a careful outline that will be determined and approved by the court. The state will request that, as far as possible, the judge is the one to carry out the identification of the relevant materials and not investigators."
