For the first time, the requirement to wear a kippa for Jewish studies at Bar Ilan University has been abolished for the school year that starts on Sunday, according to public radio.
In recent years, there has been a change in the student mix at the university and approximately 70 percent are not religious. The school also dropped a demand for modest dress.
