Minister of Culture and Sport Miri Regev (Liku) welcomed the decision of the International Judo Federation to suspend Iran's participation in the competitions, due to its refusal to compete with Israelis.
"I am sorry for the heavy price that Iranian athletes will have to pay because of the regime's attempts to prevent them from competing against Israeli athletes. I expect the International Olympic Committee to adopt the courageous policy of fraternity between peoples and ensure that sports competitions are decided only on the field," Regev said.
