Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Friday discussed with Russian officials on Friday discussed de-esclating the situation in northern Syria, Russia's Foreign Ministry said Saturday.
The discussion focused on the current situation "on the ground" in Syria, especially in the northeast of the country, the Ministry said in a statement.
