Minister Ze'ev Elkin hinted on Tuesday that it's not safe for Israelis to travel to Russia these days.

Interviewed by public radio regarding Naama Issachar, who has been sentenced to more than seven years in a Russian prison for possessing nine grams of marijuana, Elkin said, "Everyone has to ask himself if he wants to find himself in such a situation at all without understanding what's going on around him. There is no travel warning or position on the subject, but anyone who looks at this story, at least until it does not end in Naama's return to Israel, has to wonder what happened here."
