Minister Gilad Erdan responded Thursday morning to Wednesday's shooting deaths near a synagogue in Germany by saying, "What is happening in Germany today is a huge warning sign."
Interviewed by public radio, Erdan said, "I do not disconnect this from the condemnations that the German government joins against the State of Israel in United Nations institutions. The new anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism.” He concluded, "The direct responsibility is on the governments in whose territory the anti-Semitic incidents happen. This is a certificate of poverty for the German government."
