Former chairman Yaakov Nagel of the National Security Council has told Galei Tzahal radio "Israel is not relying on American forces."
Commenting on the departure of United States ground troops from northern Syria, he added, "The US is a friend of Israel, but [Israel] is not relying on it to protect it."
