Tiberias Mayor Ron Cobi has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court against the Interior Ministry's decision at summon him to a pre-dismissal hearing.
The ministry announced on Wednesday that Cobi's future would be determined at the hearing and that the city council had been dispersed. Cobi has been at odds for months with the haredi-religious public, as represented by the council and Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, who chairs the haredi Shas Party.
