Just before winter arrives and with it rain, slippery roads and poor visibility, the National Road Safety Authority and the Israel Garage Association are offering drivers a free check of brakes, tires, lights, windshield wipers and steering, through March 1st.
In Israel, where there are large intervals between rainfall, almost every rain creates conditions of "first rain", a mixture of rainwater with engine oil that has accumulated on the road. A vehicle that passes the test will receive the official label of the campaign - indicating the integrity of the vehicle and proof it was checked.
