Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz arrived today as every year on New Year's Eve, to say Selichot prayers in the Patriarchs Cave in Hevron.

After the prayer, Katz tweeted, "As every year, I arrived at the Patriarch's Cave in Hevron this morning to say the last Selichot before Rosh Hashanah."

"A day after I returned to Israel from my visit to New York and to a United Nations speech, in which I emphasized to the whole world the millennial affinity of the Jewish People to Eretz Yisrael and Jerusalem - the event has a special significance," the Foreign Minister added.

"Where Jewish history began almost 4,000 years ago, where the fathers and mothers of the nation are buried, I feel the connection to the roots and eternity of the Jewish People. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year."
