Hamas on Thursday responded to the speech by Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas at the UN General Assembly.
"The PA must stop the negotiations for a political settlement with Israel and renounce the Oslo Accords, and then it must lend a hand in formulating a national strategy for combating the plans that the occupation is formulating with the US to eliminate the Palestinian issue, such as the ‘Deal of the Century’. Regarding his intention to hold a general election as soon as he returns to Ramallah, Hamas is hereby announcing its readiness to conduct general elections immediately for the PA presidency, the Palestinian Legislative Council and the PLO National Council," said the organization.
