About 1,500 Jews gathered to receive holiday supplies on Wednesday in Berlin under an annual effort by the Jewish community in the city, led by Rabbi Yehuda Teichtal, along with Chabad emissary Rabbi Shmuel Segal.
The community is preparing for record participation in Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur prayers. Rabbi Teichtal said, "In the past year, some of the not most pleasant events have occurred, but we are all looking to the future, for a new and fruitful year, with the continued development of Jewish life in Berlin."
