A young man will be compensated 9,500 shekels by the Israel Prisons Service after jailers refused to let him make a phone call to find a guarantor for his release, resulting in his spending a full night in jail.
Upon his release, he contacted Attorney Menashe Yado, the civil department director at the Honenu legal-aid organization and filed a lawsuit against IPS. The settlement was reached out of court.
