A senior United States official has told Arutz Sheva that the results of the election and the uncertainty they create in Israel will cause a significant delay in the publication of the political portion of the Trump administration's peace plan for Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
The official said, "There is a different situation here and there may be a fundamentally different government than the one we have been working with in recent years. There is also no certainty that the prime minister will not be the person who is currently in office." He declined to set a deadline, but said he had no doubt the plan would not be published in a matter of weeks and also predicted it would not happen in 2019. Envoy Jason Greenblatt made similar observations in closed conversations.
