The 31 traffic deaths recorded in August brought the toll for the first eight months of 2019 to 225, 16-percent more than the same period last year, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics.
The number of accidents with casualties was down 1.1 percent during that period, after a rise of four tenths of a percent during the second half of 2018.
