Israel's Chief Rabbi David Lowe addressed a letter to Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, requesting the Prime Minister's urgent intervention to prevent the destruction of the ancient Mantua city cemetery in Italy.
Among those buried in the cemetery are Rabbi Menachem Azaria of Pano, Rabbi Yosef of Colon, Rabbi Moshe Zechut, Rabbi Moshe Provincial and more.
Rabbi Lowe recently learned that the Municipality of Mantua has decided to set up a research project on the cemetery area and has already begun the demolition work. As a result, the Chief Rabbi sent an urgent letter addressed to the Italian Prime Minister and asked to immediately stop the work.
