The Jerusalem Municipality's Names Committee has given preliminary approval to a proposal to name the steps leading to the Damascus Gate after Border Guards Hadar Cohen and Hadas Malka who were murdered there by terrorists.

City Councilman Dan Illouz (Hitorerut) submitted the proposal on behalf of the Betzalmo organization. He welcomed the preliminary approval, saying, "Putting the name on the place where they fell signifies our grip on the places where they want to expel us and perpetuates the memory of those who gave their lives for the defense of the people of Israel."
