In a post on Twitter, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif attacked the new US sanctions on Iran, writing:
"Escalating US economic war on Iranians, Donald Trump ordered the Secretary of the Treasury "to substantially increase sanctions against the country of Iran!" It’s an admission that US is deliberately targeting ordinary citizens: Economic Terrorism, illegal & inhuman. Stop war & terror."
