IDF Disabled (Nekhei Tzahal) Chairman Idan Kliman welcomed the appointment of Col. Barak Hiram as commander of the Golani Brigade.
"Hiram, who was seriously wounded and lost his eye in the Second Lebanon War and received an award of appreciation for his actions on the battlefield is a shining example of Zionism, love of country, bravery and determination.
"We take great pride in the fact that two IDF casualties, Col. Barak Hiram and Col. Roy Levi, who was seriously wounded in Operation Protective Edge, competed for the post."
