The haredi-religious Shas movement petitioned Chairman Hanan Melcer of the Central Election Committee, seeking the removal of a recently-launched advertising campaign on the internet by the Tiv Taam (Good Taste) grocery chain, calling for the Ramat Hahayal branch in Tel Aviv to be rescued from its closure.
Shas says that "in the video, the company indirectly calls for a vote. The video is full of lies that continue the incitement of left-wing parties towards the haredi-religious and Judaism. This is a contemptuous line not only from a public-relations standpoint but also at the factual level, since the branch was closed by the decision of the mayor belonging to the left camp and without any connection to the supermarket law." It also cited Tiv Taam for creating an illegal unregistered data base.
