The Attorney General and the Defense Ministry's legal advisor have conveyed a legal opinion to cabinet members in which they objected to a decision to authorize the Jordan Valley Jewish community of Mevo'ot Yericho before Tuesday's elections.
The matter is on Sunday's agenday. The opinion said, "There is a legal impediment to this decision during the election period. We were not presented with any evidentiary infrastructure or indication of the necessity or urgency to make the decision at the present time."
